What is your assigned location and what makes you excited about it?
Center for Civic Innovation in Atlanta,GA. Besides it being Atlanta, which in my opinion is one of the best cities in the country, this location makes me excited because it gives me the chance to physically engage in the city with community members who are passionate about social entrepreneurship and justice just as much as me. I get good sun, good food and good vibes while helping people.

What does social impact mean to you in your experiences?
Social impact to me means helping those around you at the level that you are in. Often times people ask themselves, “What can I do? I am not where I want to be to impact what it is I am passionate about.” That should not be the question or logical to follow. There is something everyone can do at the level that they are in. You just have to tap into the social impact that you envision and take the necessary steps to make something happen.

How do you hope to grow through GU Impacts?
Through GU Impacts, I hope to grow in the sense of helping as many people as possible. I want to expand my base of members who I personally help in any way that is needed. Also, I hope to grow in the sense of professional development with networking and gain experience in a professional work setting.

Why did you decide to apply to GU Impacts?
I decided to apply to GU Impacts because I knew what I was passionate about and instead of just talking about my passions to people, I wanted to act on them. That’s what lead me to complete the application. I want to be in the field more.

What do you think makes GU Impacts different from other service programs at Georgetown?
GU Impacts has a unique and empowering way of impacting communities around the world with bringing students from GU who are deeply passionate about social issues to these communities who both need and appreciate the social impact. GU Impact Fellows are individuals who are unique in their own way but what they all have in common is that they WANT to help and WANT to contribute to a cause that is bigger than themselves.

What’s your favorite quote?
“There are 3 ‘D’s’ in life that contributes to a person’s success: determination, dedication and drive.” -Eriana James (I came up with this for my high school valedictorian speech)
