What is your assigned location and what makes you excited about it?
Gashora Girls Academy for Science and Technology in Gashora, Rwanda. I’m incredibly excited to dive into the culture of Rwanda, a completely new experience, while building off of my previous experience in education. Above all, I cannot wait to meet the students I’ll be working with!
What does social impact mean to you in your experiences?
Social impact is maximizing your abilities and passions to work against social, political, economic, educational, or other inequality, with the goal of improving the lives of and provide opportunities for others.
How do you hope to grow through GU Impacts?
I hope GU Impacts will help guide my career path, help me become a better listener, and stoke my passion for social impact.
Why did you decide to apply to GU Impacts?
The mission of the Beeck Center and the concept of social impact at scale resonated with me, and I knew instantly that GU Impacts would be a perfect fit for my passions and experiences.
What do you think makes GU Impacts different from other service programs at Georgetown?
It’s hard to truly get away from campus, even when going abroad. With our small cohorts and emphasis on program partners fully guiding this experience, GU Impacts truly allows students to engage in culture and disengage from Georgetown structures and ideologies.

Just finished Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, and now Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
