The Beeck Center is pleased to announce its brand new Student Impact Board!
From almost 50 applications received, 13 young leaders were invited to join the new committee. All of the students hail from different parts of the country and pursue diverse degrees, yet they are united by their interest in social innovation. One of the co-chairs of the Board, Sankalp Gowda, an International Political Economy student, expressed he believes “the Beeck Center will empower students to learn, reflect, and ultimately affect change in the Georgetown community and beyond.” Caroline Egan, a Biology and Bioethics student and the other chair of the group, added “in the course of this next year, we plan to create a hub of innovation on campus where students can find the resources to start or scale their own ideas on existing high-level initiatives, such as impact investing or the use of big data.“
Members of the Impact Board will have the support of the Beeck Center in creating innovative learning opportunities and connecting students with the resources necessary to reach their full potential. Future initiatives include fellowships, lecture series and social innovation hackathons.
The Student Impact Board is excited to #DriveImpact at Georgetown throughout the year.
