State Chief Data Officers Network Convening
The Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation, at Georgetown University, hosts the first ever meeting of state Chief Data Officers (CDOs) on November 12th and 13th. The Chief Data Officer position is relatively new in state government, but has been steadily growing since Colorado first established the position in 2011. There are now over twenty state Chief Data Officers, and while they have collaborated informally in the past, they have never been together in person. The Beeck Center will convene the state CDOs for two days of robust discussion and sharing of best practices focused on scaling successful data innovations that states have used to improve outcomes and service delivery. The Beeck Center’s Data + Digital portfolio aims to build capacity for the individuals and teams working on data and government service delivery, support the relationships and responsiveness between governments and the people they serve, and scale efforts across governments. By bringing together top level data leaders in these states, we surface leading edge approaches in states and help scale those practices nationally. *This event is invitation-only.
