Diana Acosta

Originally from Washington, DC and Hyattsville, MD, Diana’s interests include community organizing and development, social movement narratives, and positive youth development.

As daughter of an immigrant family and community, her work is deeply rooted and motivated in systemic change and social justice with community voices at the forefront. Diana has worked with the Phillips Brooks House Association on youth programs, while supporting various community engagement efforts. She held a service fellowship to launch a family engagement and post-secondary education access program for DC public school families with the Latin American Youth Center in collaboration with the Flamboyan Foundation.

Diana has worked with the Teen Program at Mary’s Center facilitating youth programming focused on community-building, postsecondary access, and healthy choices and worked with court-involved young people managing the ASK Program through the Center for Social Justice at Georgetown University where she focused on mentoring program spaces disrupt the cradle-to-prison pipeline. Diana finds joy in hanging out with pups, reading novels, and exploring new places with loved ones.
