Why are you interested in GU Impacts? Experiential learning is invaluable, especially when put in the context of global social impact. GU Impacts embodies everything I was looking for for an immersive internship experience. It’s an opportunity to grapple with social impact questions, reflect on one’s own experiences, and be pushed out of one’s comfort zone with international partnerships. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the 2021 GU Impacts cohort!
What issues are you most passionate about working on to create social impact? I am passionate about supporting efforts toward equity in general, but specifically, gender equity. There are gender disparities around the world, and one day, I hope to work in the UN to support global efforts toward gender equity and gender equality.
Who inspires you and why? I am inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg because not only did she make great strides toward gender equality within the US, but her work showed that gender inequality affects everyone, not just women. While she may have passed on, her legacy will last forever, and I will continue to look up to her as a symbol of true social impact.
