Why are you interested in GU Impacts? GU Impacts allows me to work with and learn from conscious individuals and organizations that share my sense of social responsibility. I was especially attracted to GU Impacts because each of the program’s partners show a deep commitment to their target communities and adopt approaches that empower communities from within. Being housed at the Beeck Center, this fellowship also gives me access to endless resources to learn about ethical tech and sustainability. I hope to develop insights on these themes at the Beeck Center, and apply what I learn to my summer internship in order to be a part of sustainable ecosystem-level change.

What issues are you most passionate about working on to create social impact? I am passionate about women & girls’ empowerment, equitable opportunity to education, and bottom-up development that directly involves and empowers communities in the process of social impact. Through my internship this summer with Mann Deshi, I hope to tackle all these issues by putting women and children at the center of my work toward social impact.

Who inspires you and why? My 3-year-old sister, Dia. She values the little things in life, and always wants to put a smile on everyone’s face.
