Our History

Our Founding Spark

The Beeck Center at Georgetown University was founded in 2014 to maximize social impact and innovation and grow the next generation of changemakers.

Alberto and Olga María Beeck

The generosity and vision of Alberto and Olga María Beeck and Carl Muñana—philanthropists with deep ties to Georgetown University—established a space where students could collaborate with practitioners and make a positive social impact in their future careers.

Our Commitment to Students

From the beginning, students have been central to the Beeck Center’s work. Through flagship programs like the GU Impacts Fellowship and the Student Analyst Program, students have contributed to high-impact projects alongside experts—from improving digital benefits access to building community-based tools that support economic resilience.

Our Evolution

As a founding member of Georgetown’s Tech & Society Initiative, the Beeck Center has grown into a national leader working at the intersection of policy, data, design, and technology—bringing together students, practitioners, and government partners to design and scale services that put people first.
