Shanelle (She/Her) is a resource catalyst and connector. Shanelle is the Community Manager for the Digital Benefits Network at the Beeck Center.
She served as the Director of Youth Justice Initiatives at Georgetown’s Center for Social Justice for the past 3 years and has worked in a number of fields, including hospitality, education, policy, and real estate. Shanelle has over 10 years of experience in leadership development, coaching, community building, and curriculum planning. Hailing from North Carolina, Shanelle moved to DC in 2013 to serve as an AmeriCorp member in the City Year program.
Shanelle graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Social and Economic Justice. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Educational Transformation (advocacy and policy) at Georgetown University, Class of ’22. She plans to obtain her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology to continue her research on social impact and civic engagement in communities of color. She is an advocate and agitator, passionate about racial justice and financial literacy.
